When Women Claim Their Space

 

A woman should not have to become someone else before her voice is taken seriously.

Yet in many communities, women still face expectations about what they should say, what work they should do and how much space they should occupy in public life.

When women participate in civic life, everyone benefits.
They bring experiences that might otherwise be ignored. They raise issues that affect families and communities. They challenge decisions and create new ideas.

Representation is not simply about filling a position with a woman.
It is about making sure women have the freedom, resources and confidence to participate meaningfully.
